Steel & Aluminium Pergolas — Mansfield
Pergolas built to fit your space
— properly.
Fully bespoke steel and aluminium pergolas — designed to your exact dimensions, powder coated to any RAL colour, and installed across the East Midlands.
What We Do
Not off-the-shelf. Not a catalogue product.
Every pergola we build starts with your site and your brief. We don't sell standard sizes or kit structures — everything is fabricated from scratch in our Mansfield workshop and finished to your specification.
Whether you want a freestanding structure over a terrace, a wall-mounted lean-to across the back of your house, or a statement cantilever with no visible supports, we design it around what you actually need.
Steel or aluminium. Fixed or louvred roof. Powder coated in any RAL colour. Supply only, or supply and fit.
Made to Measure
Every dimension is yours. Width, depth, height, pitch — specified exactly to your space, not rounded to the nearest standard size.
Any RAL Colour
Full RAL range powder coated in-house. Anthracite Grey, Jet Black, Sage Green — or match your exact specification.
Built for UK Weather
Structural steel and marine-grade aluminium rated for outdoor use. Properly welded, not bolted together from sections.
Supply & Fit or Supply Only
Work alongside your landscaper, or have our team install from foundations up. Either way, the fabrication quality is identical.
What We Build
Four types of pergola — all bespoke
Aluminium Pergolas
Aluminium is the material of choice when you want a clean, contemporary finish with minimal upkeep. It doesn't rust, holds its colour exceptionally well, and is significantly lighter than steel — making it ideal for timber decking or where ground fixings are restricted.
We fabricate aluminium pergolas with fully welded joints (not the clip-together systems sold by kit suppliers), meaning they're structurally sound and look premium from every angle. Louvred roof options available.
- Marine-grade aluminium — no rust, no repainting
- Lighter structure, ideal for elevated decking
- Louvred or fixed roof configurations
- Welded joints throughout — no exposed fixings
Steel Pergolas
For larger spans, heavier roof loads, or designs that demand a more industrial aesthetic, steel is the right choice. It can be fabricated into virtually any form — tapered columns, curved beams, integrated planters — and finished to the same powder coat standard as our aluminium work.
Galvanised before powder coating for projects in exposed locations. Hot-dip galvanising available for coastal or high-humidity environments.
- Handles large spans without intermediate supports
- Suits heavy roof materials — glass, polycarbonate, timber
- Galvanised before powder coating for longevity
- Fabricated in-house — not sourced and assembled
Lean-to & Wall-Mounted Pergolas
A lean-to pergola fixes directly to your house or outbuilding wall, giving you a covered outdoor space without taking up the footprint of a freestanding structure. Ideal for side returns, rear extensions, and narrow terraces where a full pergola wouldn't work.
We design the wall connection properly — not just bolted through brick, but with appropriate fixings for your wall construction, structural lintels where required, and weatherproofed flashings.
- Smaller footprint — no front posts required
- Connects cleanly to house or garden wall
- Ideal for side returns and narrow terraces
- Proper structural wall connections, not cosmetic
Cantilever Pergolas
Cantilever structures project from a rear wall or single column array with no front legs — giving you unobstructed space underneath and a genuinely dramatic visual. They're more involved to engineer correctly, and this is where fabrication quality really matters.
We design cantilever pergolas with proper moment connections and counterbalance loadings, not just extended standard frames. If your space suits this approach, the result is unlike anything available off the shelf.
- No front posts — completely clear span
- Properly engineered moment connections
- Dramatic visual impact — statement piece
- Suits pools, hot tub areas, and high-end terraces
Pricing Guide
What does a bespoke pergola cost?
Every project is different, so we don't publish fixed prices. What we can tell you is what drives the cost — so you can budget with confidence before you ask for a quote.
Pergolas typically range from £2,500 to £12,000+ depending on size and specification.
What affects the final price?
Size is the biggest factor — more material, more fabrication time. Material choice matters too: aluminium carries a premium over mild steel, but saves on long-term maintenance. Roof specification (glass vs polycarbonate vs open-beam), number of posts, powder coat complexity, and whether you need supply-only or full installation will all move the number.
We'll give you a fully itemised quote — line by line — with no vague estimates. If the budget doesn't work, we'll tell you what we'd change to bring it in.

FAQ
Common questions about bespoke pergolas
How much does a bespoke pergola cost?
Most pergolas we build fall between £2,500 and £12,000+. Size is the biggest driver, followed by material (aluminium carries a premium over steel), roof type, and whether you need supply-only or full installation. We provide fully itemised quotes so you know exactly what you're paying for.
Do you offer installation?
Yes — we offer supply and fit across Nottinghamshire and the wider East Midlands, or supply-only if you have your own landscaper or groundworks team. Either way, we provide full fixing specifications and can advise on foundation requirements.
Can a pergola be attached to the house?
Yes. Lean-to and wall-mounted pergolas fix directly to the house or outbuilding wall. We design the wall connection properly — with the correct fixings for your wall construction, structural lintels where required, and weatherproofed flashings. Not just bolted through brick.
What materials do you use?
We fabricate in mild steel and marine-grade aluminium. Steel is better for large spans and heavier roof loads. Aluminium is lighter, rust-free, and suits modern low-maintenance installs. Both are powder coated in-house to any RAL colour. We'll advise on the right material for your brief.
We also build bespoke gates and fencing and architectural landscaping steelwork — useful if you're planning a full outdoor space.
